The Enterprise Social Network is the ideal solution for exchanging, communicating information, collaborating, and motivating your team within the company.

For a successful ESN project, you need to follow 4 key phases:

3 months, 6 months, or 1 year after launching your Enterprise Social Network project, you must evaluate its impact and assess the implementation of your ESN. This will allow you to identify difficulties and best practices, in order to readjust your actions and engagement strategies based on the observed elements and indicators.

PHASE 4: THE ASSESSMENT OF YOUR ENTERPRISE SOCIAL NETWORK PROJECT

The ESN tends to experience strong enthusiasm at its launch, followed by a decline in the subsequent months. This is explained by curiosity and the ‘new’ effect at launch, which then naturally fades. A decrease is therefore normal, but it is at this point that you must be able to maintain strong enthusiasm. It is necessary to closely monitor various indicators to prevent a drop in your platform’s popularity and react proactively.

Once the initial excitement of the launch has passed, you will need to find methods and means to keep members engaged long-term. For example, you will need to include more and more “business processes” within the ESN to encourage people to return: project tracking with key accounts, connecting the CRM to pass relevant information, etc.

For your assessment, then analyze the number of pages viewed, membership, the number of comments and interactions, the number of spontaneous posts (other than yours), the number of views on your publications, etc.

[With the Incenteev collaborative platform, easily and quickly track indicators such as the number of views on publications, the open rate of internal newsletters, the most active members, the quiz response rate, etc., and thus facilitate your project assessment]

You can then distinguish the topics or content types that interested members, but also identify the most active users and, conversely, the most inactive ones.

Following these analyses:

  • Note the relevant topics for your members
  • Consider the engaging content types
  • Personally meet with active users to congratulate them
  • Personally meet with inactive members to understand any difficulties they may have
  • Finally, readjust your strategy and engagement based on this analysis

When you identify individuals who participate little or not at all in conversations, exchanges, and sharing on your tool, you must react quickly:

  • If it’s an entire team, approach the manager concerned to re-explain the benefits of the ESN solution for their department and for the company
  • If it’s an isolated individual, go see them directly and ask them the reasons for their lack of participation. Then explain the uses and benefits that the ESN can bring to their daily work.

An Enterprise Social Network project has every chance of being a success if it is well executed. By following the 4 phases we have described, you will have all the tools to succeed.

It is important not to forget to manage, alongside the project launch, the evolution of human behavior and to support change.

We wish you great success with your Enterprise Social Network project! If you need support in your strategic project planning, the Incenteev team is here to help you. Do not hesitate to contact us!
