Charlotte Dennery

The impact of digitalization on banks

Charlotte explained how digital transformation has revolutionized the banking sector. Customers, now more inclined to use online services, require seamless digital solutions. Banks must not only adapt to these new consumption patterns but also rethink their internal organization to improve efficiency.

“Banks need to be more agile, train their teams in new digital tools, while maintaining a relationship of trust with their customers.”

Data use and regulation

One key topic discussed was the use of data. Charlotte emphasized that traditional banks, although limited by regulations, can analyze customer data responsibly in order to offer tailored products and services. Unlike some neobanks, which use data more freely, banks such as BNP Paribas are careful to comply with data protection regulations.

Artificial intelligence in the banking sector

Charlotte also discussed the growing use of artificial intelligence in banking, particularly through algorithms for customer scoring. She pointed out that AI, while promising, is still in the development phase for certain uses, such as Large Language Models (LLMs), while mentioning their potential to improve the customer experience and optimize internal processes.

The diversity and importance of inclusive leadership

Another key point of discussion was the importance of diversity within management teams. Charlotte encouraged women to assert themselves in a sector still largely dominated by men and to dare to take initiative. In her view, managerial agility and the ability to adapt quickly are now essential qualities for today’s leaders.

“The key to success is knowing how to adapt quickly while maintaining a relationship of trust with your teams and customers.”

In a nutshell…

The bank of tomorrow will inevitably be more digital, but also more human. It will have to juggle technological innovation and regulatory compliance while placing customer relations at the heart of its priorities.
