You’ve probably noticed that at the end of the year, the holiday season generally boosts your B2B sales. Indeed, the Christmas shopping frenzy puts your clients in favorable conditions for signing contracts. This then impacts your business.

Why not capitalize on this momentum during the sales? Sales teams often underestimate the beginning of the year, thinking the favorable period has passed. Yet, winter sales create a certain desire to buy among your clients and can also prove to be a driver for your sales. This period of impulsive purchases is indeed a golden opportunity to increase your sales performance. Here’s how, in two key steps:

Strengthen the Confidence and Motivation of Sales Teams

It is essential to reassure and encourage your sales representatives by reminding them that sales are a favorable period for their activity, where their sales can skyrocket. If your sales teams are convinced they will sell more during the sales, then there is indeed a greater chance they will sell more. Indeed, giving them confidence strengthens their ability to close deals while boosting their motivation. Your salespeople will certainly have a more confident approach towards their prospects, their sales pitch will be more “aggressive,” and thus their closing rate will be higher.

To further stimulate your teams, why not challenge them during this period? For example, you can use the “booster” mechanism: grant a point bonus (e.g., x2) during the sales period to encourage sales reps to outperform themselves. To involve the entire team and not just the top performers, it can be useful to set up collective challenges and sub-challenges: this way, everyone will have a chance to succeed and feel recognized for their efforts.

To be effective, the management of these challenges must be regular and use a platform easily accessible from any device. Incenteev notably offers a sales management interface that allows each person to see their performance in real-time. Our tool also allows you to create, with a team of experts, engaging challenges that reinvent your motivation mechanisms.

Adapt the Sales Pitch and Commercial Offers

Beyond the salesperson’s confidence and motivation, it is necessary to attract the buyer with offers and a pitch adapted to this period. During sales, your sales reps should not hesitate to offer exceptional commercial gestures to their contacts. Indeed, during sales, good deals are not only found in stores, and your prospect wants to take advantage of the best offers everywhere: even in their professional daily life and thus from their suppliers.

You can then offer them special price promotions, such as an exclusive discount percentage generally ranging from 10 to 50%. But it is also possible to give them more for the initial price: this involves exceptionally allowing them to benefit from an additional service or product, which usually requires an extra cost. You thus add value to your offer, which should appeal to your buyer and convince them to sign faster to take advantage of the benefits of this period.

To effectively communicate these “B2B sales” to your future clients, the role of the sales director is crucial here: you must help your sales force build a sales pitch adapted to the sales period. This sales pitch must make prospects understand that it is the ideal period to sign, as they will be able to obtain exceptional offers that they would not be able to benefit from the rest of the year.

You can also reuse certain arguments often used at the end of the year, adapting them to the sales period, such as the punctual and ephemeral nature of the offer (without putting pressure on the interlocutor). If the prospect seems interested but the contract does not close despite their efforts, then suggest to your sales reps to offer even more aggressive prices during the last week of the sales! The idea is, in summary, to reproduce the promotional strategies that your future clients encounter in their daily lives and that allow them to get good deals, but within your B2B sector.
